The walk follows a mostly flat 5 km route through parkland and Fitzroy, stopping at the Sir Douglas and Lady Gladys Nicholls Memorial and the Stolen Generations Marker for reflection, before finishing at Dights Falls Park.
Terrain: Mainly flat with small gradient inclines and walking trail.

Day 2: 20 of April - AAL to Barrbunin Beek

This walk connects two important Aboriginal community places through Melbourne’s northern suburbs. The route follows suburban streets and footpaths and is a longer walk, suited to participants with a reasonable level of fitness.
Terrain: Suburban roads all on footpaths.
Walking Difficulty: Hard.
Distance: Approximately 6.4 km, 4.5 hours including a 30 min stop.

This is a short and easy walk, designed to be accessible for people of all ages and fitness levels. It provides an opportunity to connect with community, celebrate culture, and witness the special Message Stick Handover between Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Taungurung at the end of the walk.

This section follows a combination of walking tracks and town footpaths along the Nagambie Lakes area. The route is relatively flat and accessible, passing through scenic lakeside surroundings and into the township.

Distance: Approximately 1.6 km, 1 hour walking with a break in the middle.
